Overview of International Studies Program

In today’s global economy, change is fast paced and constant. College graduates must understand a broad range of cultural perspectives and economic issues to achieve personal and professional success. Bentley strives to provide students with an experiential understanding of international cultures and business practices in order to best meet the demands of our increasingly global economy and modern life.

The international studies major at Bentley provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the technology-driven globalization process with a focus on commercial, economic and social interactions. Through Bentley's international studies program — the only such program in the nation with a required business minor and a study abroad experience — students gain an understanding of global cultures combined with business skills, proficiency in modern language, and a required study abroad experience. Majors graduate with strong critical thinking skills, practical experiences and business skills that translate into successful careers.

While at Bentley, students in the international studies program are surrounded by opportunities to further their knowledge of international environments and to seek out personal experiences that will enrich their lives and contribute to their future success. The many avenues for opportunity include the Joseph M. Cronin International Center, responsible for all international endeavors and initiatives at Bentley; the Office of Education Abroad with its 27 partnerships in 16 countries worldwide; the Center for Languages and International Collaboration (CLIC), offering live video and computer conferencing, a multimedia library of instructional materials and access to international satellite broadcasting to enhance course curricula. Further, the Center for Marketing Technology and the Cyberlaw Center both explore myriad issues surrounding international business practices.
