Information Session

An information session will be held that will provide details of the event and answer any questions or concerns regarding the case competition. At least one member of each team should plan to attend. If you missed the information session you can watch the recording here


 Here are some resources on how to make the best presentation

Registration

Students organize their own team of up to five members within the same class year* as of the start of the spring semester as follows: 

  • First Year (Freshman) students 
  • Second Year (Sophomore) students 
  • Third Year (Junior) students
  • Fourth Year (Senior) students 
  • Grad Students - Currently enrolled in graduate program.

Teams must register with four or five members.  Teams with less than five members may be assigned another member at the discretion of the NBB Committee. Teams must have at least four members to participate on the day of the competition.
Space is limited to twelve (12) teams per level.  Overflow teams may be wait-listed.

REGISTRATION will open January 22, 2024

Students can Register here by having one member of the team (designated as Captain) login and enter the students' names. Deadline to register is February 9, 2024. If you do not have a complete team (four or five members, YOU MUST HAVE THE MINIMUM OF FOUR MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE), you can register yourself as a Free Agent and you may be placed on an incomplete team, depending upon availability. There is no guarantee that you will be placed on a team. By submitting your registration, you are agreeing to the NBB Guidelines found on the FAQ page.

Competition Day

Day before the event:

  1. Teams will confirm their participation in specific time windows per class code starting at 9:00am through 3:00pm (ET) on Friday, February 16.  The time window for class codes to confirm participation will be sent out to team captains by Tuesday, February 13.
  2. Once team captains confirm participation, they will receive the case and can begin work and research immediately.

Day of the event:

  1. Teams check in the morning starting at 8:00AM in the EDR, and will then receive an assigned time and classroom number, along with additional instructions.
  2. After presentation is completed, participants are invited to complete an evaluation form to receive a raffle prize ticket.
  3. An awards ceremony and reception announcing winners of each class group will take place later in the afternoon in the EDR at 4:30PM.  
  • Dress Code: Business
  • No cell phone usage during the presentations.

Competition Day Schedule - Saturday, February 17, 2024:

  • 8:00am - 8:45am: Team check-in, breakfast and welcome in the EDR
  • 9am - 12:15pm: first Round Competition Presentations in the Jenison building classrooms
  • 12:00pm - 12:40pm: lunch in the EDR
  • 12:30pm: Finals Round Advancing Teams Notified
  • 1:00pm - 4:15pm: Finals Round Competition Presentations
  • 4:30pm - Reception and Awards ceremony

Presentation Time Overview

  • 20 minutes to present
  • 10 minutes for questions from judges
  • 5 minutes for judge deliberation (team leave room)
  • 5 minute feedback from Judges

Judges will provide feedback and it should be received as suggestions that might have improved the presentation and final scores.  DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE JUDGES.
