The Bentley Healthcare MBA is a cohort-based program designed to equip healthcare professionals with essential business skills through a curriculum tailored specifically for the healthcare industry.

Foundational Courses

Foundational courses provide healthcare professionals with a solid grounding in core business principles—essential for navigating today’s complex healthcare landscape. While waivers may be granted based on prior academic or professional experience, most students in the Healthcare MBA program benefit from completing all five courses. They’re designed to build confidence in key areas like finance, operations, and strategy, and are scheduled in a way that supports a smooth transition into the program, regardless of your background.

These six core courses are required for all MBA students and are essential for building true business mastery. Covering topics like ethical leadership, strategic decision-making, and social responsibility, they equip healthcare professionals with the skills to lead effectively and responsibly in a rapidly evolving industry.

Elective Courses

Elective courses allow Healthcare MBA students to tailor their learning to their specific interests and career goals. Designed with the needs of healthcare leaders in mind, these electives cover key topics such as interpersonal communication, project management, innovation, and data analytics in healthcare—offering practical, targeted insights that can be applied immediately on the job.

Should a student waive four or more foundation courses, Bentley will provide the opportunity for those students to take additional elective offerings through Bentley's general MBA course catalog.

The cohort-based course sequence is mapped out below by term. Course formats will include a mix of weekday evening synchronous courses (14 weeks fall/spring, 10 weeks for the summer), and 10 week asynchronous courses with optional weekly synchronous meetings.

HC 660 Interpersonal Dynamics in Healthcare

This course focuses on improving provider-patient relationships and organizational dynamics, emphasizing communication, counseling skills, and professionalism to enhance compassionate care and strengthen collegial relationships in healthcare settings.

HC 661 Project Management for Healthcare

Project management is a vital skill for business leaders across all fields, essential for achieving objectives within scope, cost, and time constraints. This course covers fundamental project management concepts and behavioral skills, preparing students to propose, launch, lead, and measure successful projects in both domestic and global settings.

HC 662 Healthcare Innovations

In this course, you will learn to apply innovation theory to tackle complex healthcare challenges, from improving care delivery and patient experience to integrating AI, data, and new biotech advancements. You’ll also explore why innovation fails, the barriers to success, and how to develop a culture of innovation that overcomes these challenges, while working on a real-world healthcare innovation project.

HC 664 Healthcare Analytics

This course covers essential data analytics concepts and techniques used in organizations for data-driven decision-making, expanding students' skills in business intelligence, machine learning, and AI. Through healthcare case studies, students will explore how analytics improves patient care, service quality, and cost reduction, while gaining hands-on experience with advanced analytics and visualization tools.

For a supply chain project, my team focused on researching the current deficiencies and potential solutions in reference to providing adequate interpretation services for our increasingly linguistically diverse populations. Our findings were presented to our respective leadership teams throughout our multiple hospital systems and we are currently part of an inter-hospital committee to promote language equity throughout our system.
