Thank you for all who attended our second Alumni Career Networking Event on Nov. 14 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm on our Bentley campus!

This was an in-person event open only to Bentley alumni.  Fifty-five alumni attended, with 19 graduate alumni and 36 undergrad alumni. There was some exceptional networking and the LinkedIn photo booth was a hit!

Alumni Career Design Fellowship

For those in Career Transition - Mission Collaborative program starting February 8, 2025

Wanting to make a career pivot but not sure how to do so? Where do you want to be in 5 years? Whether you’re early-, mid- or late-career, this 4-week online program will help you design your career. This is Bentley’s 5th year offering this opportunity to our alumni. Early enrollment ends January 18.

Perfect if you're:

  • Wanting more balance, growth or impact from your career
  • Feeling bored, burned out, under-appreciated or not using your strengths at work
  • Wondering how your skills and experience translate to other career paths
  • Transitioning to a new phase of life and want to reinvent your career

Career Design Fellowship

Wanting to make a career pivot but not sure how to do so? Where do you want to be in 5 years? Whether you’re early-, mid- or late-career, this 4-week online program from Mission Collaborative will help you design your career. 

We are planning our next Mission Collaborative Career Design Fellowship Public Cohort in February 2025. More registration information to come. Whether you’re early-, mid- or late-career, this 4-week online program provides the structure and accountability you need to advance or pivot your career. 

2024 was the 4th year that Bentley University successfully partnered with Mission Collaborative to offer the Bentley Alumni Career Design Fellowship, a 30-day online program designed to help alumni make their next career move. Here is a brief summary of this last cohort from Spring 2024.

One Bentley alumnus said: “This program provided me with the guidance and motivation I needed to take the next step in my career. It's an invaluable resource for those who are seeking direction and encouragement to explore new opportunities. The program also equips you with essential networking skills, helping you to navigate professional relationships with ease.”

Overview of participants:

32 alumni participants; 56% Male, 43% Female; 9 states represented; Ages ranged from 22 to 62; 8 industries represented

Key outcomes:

  • 94% Say they were glad they participated in the Fellowship
  • 88% Agree or Strongly Agree that they were satisfied with the Fellowship
  • 77% Have a better understanding of themself
  • 77% Have developed strategies to recognize and challenge limiting beliefs about

Top cited sources of value from the experience:

Use the job portal to connect with fellow alumni and future employers. Create an account using your alumni ID number. Once you’re logged in, you can post and search jobs, access the alumni directory and much more. Group Career Coaching

Alumni Career Strategy Group

Formerly called “Fast Track Job Search,” this group can help you wherever you are on your career journey. Are you hoping to take your career to the next level? Thinking of making a career change? Dealing with a lay off? Join us to gain insights and advice from alumni job seekers and career coaches, Bob Leahy and Barbara Lipps.

This group meets on Wednesdays from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. E.T. on Zoom. Registration is simple by joining the meeting here and using the passcode: "Alumni25!"

Meet the Facilitator

Thank you to Barbara Lipps who, as of November 2024, is retiring as a co-facilitator of the ACSG. Barbara has been an incredible collaborator and coach, drawing upon the combination of her recruiting experience and social work background to help individuals reach clarity about their career direction at opportune moments in their lives. We wish Barbara well on her next adventures. 

Bob Leahy

For the past thirty years, Bob Leahy ’74, MBA ’90, P ’09 ’10 has been a leader and “C”-level executive. He is a skilled operations, finance, and administration professional with experience in all aspects of business management, including strategic planning and human resources. A Double Falcon, Bob enjoys working with recent graduates as well as experienced alumni who are in transition or looking for new opportunities.

One-on-One Help

Meet the Facilitator

Jean PapaliaJean Papalia brings extensive experience in career development to Bentley’s Alumni Career Services. Most recently, Jean was the director of the Career Center at Tufts University and prior to that she was the director of Alumni Career Services at Boston College. Previously, Jean worked in career development at the University of Pennsylvania and Bentley University. Over the course of her career, she has worked closely with thousands of hiring managers and job seekers of all ages and career stages. Jean is thrilled to be back at Bentley and looks forward to helping you manage the next step of your career.

Bentley Industry Connector

Are you interested in supporting Bentley students and alumni with career advice? Do you have a network of colleagues, experts or professionals in a specific industry? If so, we encourage you to become a Bentley Industry Connector. We’ll ask you to:

  • Respond to emails from current students and alumni who have an interest in learning more about your industry 
  • Suggest additional connections or resources to support their networking and search for information 
  • Facilitate LinkedIn connections from your network (as appropriate)

Time commitment: Varies; approximately 1 hour per month


Recruit a Bentley Student

Post your open positions and internships for students on Handshake. If you don’t have an account, you can easily create one. Signing up takes less than 5 minutes. For additional assistance, please contact recruitinginfo@bentley.edu.

Time commitment: As often as you have positions


Alumni in Residence 

Share your expertise and knowledge with undergraduate or graduate students through a series of 20-minute, one-on-one conversations.

Time commitment: Minimum of 2 hours; available throughout the academic year


Professional Development Workshop

Develop and deliver a workshop focused on case/technical interview preparation, business etiquette and/or salary negotiations. The audience may include students and alumni.

Time commitment: Minimum of 2 hours; available throughout the academic year


Career Communities

Lead small group discussions about your industry experience to support students as they define their path beyond Bentley.

Timing: Throughout the academic year


Career Fairs

Attend a virtual or in-person career fair and hire Bentley talent! Come to an event to promote open positions and opportunities at your company. For more information, please visit our Employer Relations and Recruiting page.

If you have experience conducting job interviews, we would love your support with our ongoing programs for undergraduate and graduate students.

European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD)

Bentley is a member school of EFMD's global network. The EFMD career portal connects you to global opportunities, where corporate members of EFMD’s global network post internship and job opportunities. You can also access global organizations and their full-time opportunities by participating in a series of virtual career fairs this October. These virtual fairs enable you to have real-time interaction with recruiters from leading companies and organizations.
