Meet the Team
Our staff facilitates the Social Innovation Incubator lifecycle, fosters community connections, and provides one-on-one support to social entrepreneurs and their new businesses. Inquiries and fresh ideas are always welcome. The staff offer hands-on experience in social enterprise formation, nonprofit management, and the nuts and bolts of operations.
Dr. Jonathan M. White is executive director of the Bentley Service-Learning and Civic Engagement Center and associate professor of sociology at Bentley University. His areas of specialization are domestic and global inequality; political economy; globalization and human rights; social entrepreneurship and social innovation; war, peace, and genocide; and experiential and service-learning. Dr. White was the founding director of the nonprofit Sports for Hunger and the Hunger Resource Center and has created or helped to develop the international Halloween for Hunger (now We Scare Hunger), We are Silent, 10-by-10, One Night Out, Brick-by-Brick and Pass the Fast campaigns. A strategic consultant who has overseen the strategic planning processes for dozens of nonprofit organizations, Dr. White has consulted with small and large social impact businesses, and served as Senior Consultant to the AP (Advanced Placement) service-learning program. He is the author of numerous books, articles, and book chapters and regularly sits on the boards of a variety of local, national, and international nonprofits.
Stephanie has been working in the social enterprise and nonprofit space for the past 15 years, focused on supporting small business development in post-conflict and post-disaster areas. She has worked for start-up nonprofits as well as large international NGOs in over 20 countries, and her work has emphasized the importance of the impact of social enterprise on developing economies. Her recent work experience includes acting as Chief of Staff for a global consulting firm aimed at supporting gender inclusion in small businesses and social enterprises. Stephanie has an M.A. in Sustainable International Development and an M.A in Conflict Studies from Brandeis University, and lives in Greater Boston with her family.
Susan is the Assistant Director of the Bentley Social Innovation Incubator. She liaises with Bentley faculty and students, community partners, business leaders, local banks, and potential investors to establish and nurture new ventures with a multi-stakeholder model. Susan brings with her more than a decade of experience as an educator and higher education administrator. Her passion is helping organizations, including businesses, contribute to the greater good. Susan spent 14 years teaching in La Paz, Bolivia and loves to read, learn languages, travel, and spend as much quality time as possible with her family.
Nyasha has a BSc in Applied Mathematics with Economics from the University of Zimbabwe-Harare and is currently pursuing his MS in Business Analytics at Bentley. He worked previously with a top government division in Zimbabwe, supporting strategic planning by processing export documentation and applying data analysis techniques in identifying trends to enhance decision-making. He possesses a unique blend of quantitative aptitude and business acumen and is proficient in statistical analysis, machine learning, and key data visualization tools. Nyasha is dedicated to continuous improvement and collaboration, eager to contribute to innovative projects and to help drive impactful results. He is excited to be part of the Bentley Social Innovation Incubator team.
