Program Mission Statement
The mission of the Prospect Hill Afterschool Program is to provide the children who live at Prospect Hill Terrace a safe, positive environment to learn and grow – both academically and socially. The Prospect Hill Afterschool Program serves as an outlet for children in the low-income housing development, affording them a place to complete homework, do activities, and engage with other students. Academics are the primary focus of the Prospect Hill Afterschool Program; all attendees are strongly encouraged to complete all homework as well as supplementary learning materials prior to spending the remainder of their time taking part in a wide range of activities designed by Bentley students. Bentley students are expected to lead by example, help students with homework, mentor and tutor them in areas they lack in and coordinating activities from day to day. The students from Bentley who complete service at Prospect Hill are encouraged to treat their service as a compliment to their classroom experience and draw connections between what they learn at Bentley and their work on site.
