Bentley Equity Experience

Current faculty, staff, and students have three different opportunities through which they can contribute to the campus climate. Review the descriptions below to learn more.

Campus Climate Survey

From late October to early December, all current Bentley community members will be invited to participate in the BEX Campus Climate Survey. This survey will get individual perspectives on the following topics:

  • Perceptions of overall campus climate
  • Bentley's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and its institutional values
  • Experiences with fair treatment and discrimination
  • Ways in which one experiences belonging, feeling valued, and the ability to thrive and grow

This survey will be available to all current faculty, staff, and students at Bentley University. Everyone will receive an email invitation from Bentley University with a unique link to complete the survey. All answers are optional, and no responses will be in any way connected to one's personal identifiable information (including name, email address, or Bentley ID).

The survey is adapted from the National Campus Climate Survey developed by the University of Michigan and will be administered by the Office of Business Intelligence and Enrollment Services. All the data collected from this survey and other methods of engagement will be analyzed by the same team and shared for the purposes of improving institutional culture and developing more equitable practices. The analysis will also include comparisons to the data from the BEX 2021 study to identify possible shifts in the climate perceptions among the Bentley community and identify potential areas of growth and enhancement.

Big Questions for Bentley

The Big Questions for Bentley dialogues will bring together students, faculty, and staff to openly and bravely examine and uncover the ways in which our campus climate and culture impacts the lived experiences of our community members. These workshops will combine self-reflection, facilitated dialogues and targeted activities to provide participants multiple ways to understand and engage with the culture and climate. Additionally, these conversations will help the strategic work of the Inclusive Excellence Council and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

The first Big Questions for Bentley session has been announced and will take place on Monday, October 21, 2024 in LaCava 375 and via Zoom. More details on registration are available on the front page of this site. Additional Big Questions sessions will be announced in the coming months.

Quick Questions for Bentley

This series of Quick Questions will solicit feedback from the community through social media and pulse surveys to complement the engagement through the Big Questions sessions. We will provide multiple avenues for community members to anonymously share their stories with us, which we will then share more publicly with the community.
