Join us in commemorating the life and enduring impact of Martin Luther King, Jr. as we come together as one Bentley community on Tuesday, January 28th. This enriching day of learning is accessible to all members of our community and features the 39th annual MLK Breakfast followed by innovative learning sessions. This year’s theme is the ‘Action for Justice.’

MLK 2024 celebration

Bentley University launched a new tradition with its MLK Day of Social Justice, Celebration, Listening, and Learning, pausing classes for the entire community to gather in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The day included over 50 innovative learning sessions, with the theme “The Business of Justice,” and featured the 38th-annual MLK Celebration Breakfast. Keynote speaker Dr. Anthony Abraham Jack emphasized the importance of understanding structural inequalities in higher education, encouraging students to demand more from their college experience and embrace their unique identities.

MLK 2023 celebration

The 37th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at Bentley University filled the LaCava Executive Dining Room, featuring keynote speaker Winona LaDuke, a renowned advocate for Indigenous rights and environmental justice. This year’s theme, “Honoring Indigenous Communities,” coincided with the university's formal land acknowledgment, emphasizing the ongoing need for social justice and equality. The event, attended by students, faculty, and staff, also included inspiring speeches, musical performances, and the presentation of the Dr. Earl L. Avery MLK Leadership Award.
