MY TOYS

Come into my office and the first thing that catches your eye is the wall of toys: Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain, The Simpsons, Disney, Pixar. . . . They lighten things up, remind me not to take myself too seriously, and inspire creativity whenever I look at them.

CREATIVITY BOOKS

Creative Confidence, Funny Business, Improv Yourself and many, many more. These are my go-to sources when I need a new way to build creativity — in myself or in my students. There are many ways to keep your creative muscles fit, and these books help lay out the workout plan.

BASKETBALL

Nothing like a little sweat and friendly competition to break up the day. The lunchtime basketball crew provides that, as well as any number of hacks, missed layups and bricks. OK, most of the hacks, missed layups and bricks come from me. If anyone wants to join us: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in the Dana Center. If you’re too good we might make you play blindfolded.

FAMILY PICTURES

My wonderful wife, Sharon, and our awesome kids, Maya and Ryne, are what truly inspire me. Their pictures put a smile on my face on the occasions when it’s not there already, and make the smile bigger when it is.

FALCON NATION

The most important “thing” for doing my job is a “who.” All my faculty colleagues, but especially those in the Marketing Department, who are so passionate about teaching and learning about the role of marketing in society; our staff and their dedication to the entire Bentley community; and the students, who led me to this profession and impress me every day with their creativity, drive and enthusiasm.
