Message from President Gloria Cordes Larson regarding Amy Lord:

To the Bentley Community:

It is with such great sadness that I write to you all to share information on the unexpected death of a member of our community. We learned today that Amy Lord, a 2011 graduate, has been identified as the victim of a homicide that was reported by local media on Tuesday night, July 23. The Boston Police Department homicide unit is coordinating with the State Police and investigating the suspicious death.

Amy graduated from Bentley University with a BA in Marketing, Quantitative Perspectives.  She was an active member of our community – she was involved in the Bentley Service Learning Program, the Residence Hall Association, the International Buddy Network, and was a Study Abroad Peer Advisor.  She studied Economics and Business while at Universidad de Navarra in 2009 and was active in intramural soccer. During her time at Bentley she also interned at MassMutual Life Insurance Company, NetCracker and Genuine Interactive. After graduation she landed a position as a Digital Media Analyst with Genuine Interactive in the Boston area.

Our heartfelt sympathies and condolences go out to Amy’s family, friends, classmates and professors.  We can only imagine their grief at this tragic event.

Below please find information for students and others who are struggling with this heartbreaking news and how to support their friends.

I know our small community has been impacted more than anyone would expect with recent losses.  But I also know that we are a strong group and will once again join together during this difficult time and support each other.

Sincerely,

Gloria
