Bentley University’s full-time MBA program has, once again, been ranked among the Top 100 business schools worldwide as part of “Beyond Grey Pinstripes” for its commitment to integrating social and environmental stewardship in both teaching and research. The McCallum Graduate School was ranked #58 globally and in the top five in New England.

Beyond Grey Pinstripes is a bi-annual survey and alternative ranking of MBA programs that highlights schools that incorporate social and environmental issues into their curriculum and research, looking beyond reputation and test scores to measure how well schools prepare their students for the environmental, social and ethical complexities of modern-day business. This year, 149 business schools from 22 countries participated in a year-long effort to map the landscape of teaching and research on issues pertaining to business and society.

Schools are evaluated and ranked based on the following four areas:

  1. Availability of Relevant Courses in the MBA Curriculum (the number of courses in the curriculum that the scoring team agrees contains social, environment and/or ethical content)

  2. Student Exposure (the number of full-time students enrolled in those courses)

  3. Relevant Courses on Business Impact (the number of courses that address the intersection of social and environmental issues within the context of discipline-based for-profit business)

  4. Faculty Research (articles published in peer reviewed journals that reflect social and environmental issues)

Bentley University is a pioneer and leader in promoting ethically and socially responsible enterprise and holds such values at the center of its mission and vision.  The Bentley Alliance for Ethics and Social Responsibility (BAESR), a collaborative effort involving several campus-based centers including the Center for Business Ethics, the Bentley Service-Learning Center, the Valente Center for Arts and Sciences, and the Center for Women and Business, is focused on amplifying, enhancing and extending the work of these centers and related initiatives in order to support and encourage greater awareness of, respect for, and commitment to ethics, service, social responsibility and sustainability in our research, curricula, and campus culture.  Key campus-wide initiatives also include Bentley’s membership in the UN Global Compact's Academic Network (PRME) and the Conscious Capitalism Institute, the University's diversity efforts, Risk Management Research Program, the Graduation Pledge, Net Impact and the student-led Civic Leadership Program, Institutional Review Board (IRB), Academic Integrity Policy, and the Bentley Green Initiative.

The full-time MBA program is part of a suite of master’s program options that also includes:

  • The Emerging Leaders MBA, a full-time, two year program designed for those with relatively limited professional experience

  • The Professional MBA, a  flexible program geared toward those who wish to pursue their degree on a part-time basis

  • Seven specialized Master of Science programs including Accountancy, Finance, Financial Planning, Human Factors in Information Design, Marketing Analytics, Information Technology and Taxation

  • Master of Science (MS) + MBA, an innovative program enabling students to simultaneously pursue the Bentley MBA and either the MS in Information Technology or the MS in Human Factors in Information Design

The Aspen Institute’s Business and Society Program, along with its Center for Business Education, seeks to create business leaders for the 21st century who are equipped with the vision and knowledge necessary to integrate corporate profitability with social value. To that end, it offers programs that provide business educators with the resources they need to incorporate issues of social and environmental stewardship into their teaching, research and curriculum development.
