Bloomberg Radio

Bentley and its media partner, Bloomberg Radio, broadcast the next segment in its ongoing series “Millennials in the Workplace” on Bloomberg’s “Taking Stock” program on Friday, February 20. Hosted by Bentley President Gloria Larson alongside Bloomberg’s Carol Massar and Michael McKee, the segment focused on millennials’ commitment to the triple bottom line: people, planet, and profits.

While millennials have often been called “the me” generation, accused of being too wrapped up in themselves, recent research has proven otherwise.

  • Forbes: 64% of millennials said it’s a priority for them to make the world a better place
  • Pew Research: 21% of those aged 18-29 said helping others in need is one of the most important things in their life, a greater portion than those aged above 30
  • Bentley’s PreparedU Project: 95% of millennials surveyed said a company’s ethics are very important to them.

The hour-long segment featured three guests offering various perspectives on this topic. Interviews are linked below:

  • Anne Donovan, PwC human capital transformation leader
  • Cynthia Clark, Bentley University management professor, coordinator of the Alliance for Ethics and Social Responsibility and director of the Harold Geneen Institute of Corporate Governance
  • David Burstein, millennial expert and author of the book “Fast Future: How the Millennial Generation is Shaping Our World”

This segment is part of an ongoing series with Bentley and Bloomberg Radio that discusses topics related to millennial career preparedness and higher education, stemming from Bentley’s PreparedU Project.
