Bentley University is featured as one of the best institutions for undergraduate education in the just-published 2014 edition of The Princeton Review annual college guide, “The Best 378 Colleges”, (Random House/Princeton Review). Bentley is also named among the guide’s Best Northeastern Colleges.
In the subcategories that feature rankings based on student surveys, Bentley Career Services was ranked #3 in the country. Bentley was also named to the Fire Safety Honor Roll.
Only about 15% of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges and four colleges outside the U.S are chosen, based on outstanding academics, to be profiled in the book. The Princeton Review, a New York based education services company, does not rank the colleges in the book overall, nor do the rankings reflect The Princeton Review's opinion of the schools. The guidebook features detailed profiles of each school with rating scores in eight categories, plus ranking lists of top 20 schools in 62 categories. The rankings lists are based on The Princeton Review's survey of 126,000 students attending the 378 schools featured. The ratings are based on institutional data collected from the schools. The ranking categories, lists and methodology are all posted on http://www.princetonreview.com/college-rankings.aspx.
In its profile on Bentley University, The Princeton Review quotes extensively from Bentley students surveyed for the guide:
Students find that not only are professors easily accessible, so are their fellow students thanks to “small class sizes” and “discussion-based classes.” One student remarked that professors try “to get all students involved in their discussions. They enjoy team projects, which is a great way to learn the material and meet new people.”
This education is led by a team of professors who are “very engaged in their fields and are often around after hours to help you understand concepts”… “Most professors want you to do well, so that creates an environment where you feel more inclined to comment and ask questions.”
"Since I wanted to pursue a career, Bentley would offer me the best testing grounds to try every kind of major.”
Bentley University’s business-focused classes are taught by “real-life business men and women that bring their experiences from the real world into the class-room.” The business education here is “well-rounded,” and offers “connections to many alumni throughout the state”.
Bentley is also profiled in the Princeton Review downloadable book, “The Princeton Review’s Guide to 322 Green Colleges: 2013 Edition.” The guidebook profiles institutions of higher education that demonstrate a notable commitment to sustainability in their academic offerings, campus infrastructure, activities and career preparation.
