Bentley University was ranked number 12 in the United States in a new ranking of Best Colleges for Business Majors by Money magazine. Bentley’s strong business curriculum, career services department and technology offerings all contributed to its high ranking.
At Bentley, “The business coursework and hands-on experience appear to translate into high salaries,” Money reported. “Recent grads report earning an average of $61,400, more than 22 percent higher than the average salary of their counterparts at similar, business-oriented schools.”
Money also ranked Bentley among the 43 Colleges That Add the Most Value based on its graduation rate, the earnings of its graduates and student loan repayment. Money compiled the list after analyzing 2,400 colleges across the U.S. The rankings are part of the magazine’s annual Best Colleges for Your Money list.
How the Ranking was Conducted
A total of 711 colleges and universities met Money’s criteria to be considered in its ranking. The schools were ranked on 27 factors in the following three categories:
- Quality of the education: Six-year graduation rate, student-to-faculty-ration and standardized test scores of incoming first-year students were a few of the factors that Money considered in ranking colleges’ quality of education.
- Affordability: Net price of a degree, average student debt, student loan repayment and affordability for low-income students were the major factors measured in this category.
- Outcomes: Graduates’ future earnings and the market value of their job skills made up the outcomes category.
