Bentley senior Evan O’Keeffe, along with other students from across the nation belonging to Beta Alpha Psi honors organization for financial information students, won first place in the 2013 Project Run With It case competition. Each member of the winning team, which included students from Elon University, Seattle University and the University of Notre Dame, was awarded $1,000 at the competition, held at Beta Alpha Psi’s annual meeting in Anaheim, California.  

“We provided recommendations for the organization as they prepare to expand their facilities, donations and job placement programs,” says O’Keeffe, a Corporate Finance & Accounting degree student who serves as president of the Beta Alpha Psi chapter at Bentley. “We had the case for approximately 24 hours and with very little sleep, presented and placed first in the A Place Called Home cluster.”

O’Keeffe traveled to California with faculty adviser Arthur Reed, senior lecturer in accountancy, and three other members of the chapter’s executive board (senior Shane Polimeni and juniors Katie Kershner and Doug Schmid), who presented on fundraising strategies. The Bentley chapter was recognized for its Superior Chapter status, which requires that members and pledges complete a minimum of 32 professional or service activity hours per year. This is Bentley’s tenth year achieving Superior Status.
