Board Room Dedicated to Trustee David Weener ’72 and His Wife Elayne
The board room on the third floor of the Rauch Administration Building has officially been dedicated to Trustee David Weener ’72 and his wife Elayne, in recognition of David’s years of service to the board of trustees and David and Elayne’s longtime generous philanthropic support of the university.
Since joining the board in 1996, David has been an instrumental member, serving on numerous important committees and as vice chairman and helping to ensure the university was a financially stable, ethically run institution.
In addition to his help in governing and guiding the university, David and Elayne have been longtime generous donors to Bentley. During his time on the board, David helped to establish an endowed scholarship in his and Elayne’s name, and they are noted as Great Benefactors of the university, a designation given to those who have donated over $1 million to Bentley.
David will retire as a trustee in June after 23 years of service.
“For so long, David and Elayne’s contributions have ensured that others would have the opportunity to earn a Bentley education,” said President Alison Davis-Blake. “Their generosity has opened doors for so many deserving students.
“For years to come, important decisions that will guide the future of Bentley University will be made in the Weener Board Room,” President Davis-Blake said. “I can’t think of a more appropriate way to honor the legacy that David has left behind.”
