The Women's Leadership Institute at Bentley University, with the support of Tufts Health Plan, presents the second annual Tufts Health Plan speaker series. The program features prominent female business leaders addressing relevant issues that affect women and business today. Christina Lampe- Önnerud, founder and CEO of Boston-Power, will be the keynote speaker on Wednesday, December 1 from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00p.m. in the Executive Dining Room in the La Cava Center at Bentley University. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
Drawing on insights and experience from her career in the battery industry, Lampe-Önnerud will lead attendees in a conversation about sustainability, the importance of the alternative energy sector to national and local economies, and the role of entrepreneurship in the development of alternative energy.
Lampe-Önnerud is a well known authority in the battery industry and an innovator in the arena of sustainability. She has pioneered the use of lithium-ion and other materials to deliver more powerful, longer lasting, safer, cost-effective and environmentally sustainable batteries for applications ranging from laptops and electric vehicles to utility energy storage. Prior to founding Boston-Power, Lampe-Önnerud was one of the youngest partners ever appointed at Arthur D. Little/TIAX, where she ran the company's globally-renowned battery labs, defined strategies for the world's top chemical and battery organizations, and directed high-profile market evaluations. Earlier in her career, she served as a director and senior scientist at Bell Communications Research. With close to 30 patents awarded in energy storage power solutions, Lampe-Önnerud has earned considerable recognition, including recently being elected a lifetime member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, IVA.
