We’re out to start something here. This debut issue of Bentley Magazine arrives to open a conversation with alumni and other readers, on the topics you care about most.

Our creative team started talking in earnest last July. We came from two divisions of the university and all corners of the communication field, to reimagine a publication that has existed in one form or another for 58 years. The goal in our sights: produce a magazine relevant and compelling for time-pressed, business-minded men and women with shared ties to Bentley and immersed in 21st-century life.

We had metrics. An online survey of alumni, conducted last summer, identified your primary interests, with professional development and each other leading the pack. We had competitive analysis. Stacks of general-interest and university-focused magazines lent inspiration and insight on print best practices in the digital age. We had deadlines and schedules and to-do lists and spreadsheets and other tools for tracking a venture with many moving parts. And at the center of every decision, every discussion, we had you.

Now you have Bentley Magazine. It’s a proud product of collaboration that invites more of the same. Your opinions, ideas, praise, criticism, suggestions and advice are not just welcome but essential. Tweet about these and anything else (@bentleyalumni) or use the new dedicated inbox — magazine@bentley.edu — then watch the pages unfold with your stories.

Stay well and stay in touch.
