Bentley University’s progressive role in sustainability is being highlighted with a campus event and planned commercial launch of new technologies supported by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center.
MassCEC and the state Dept. of Energy Resources are meeting Oct. 1 for a Clean Technology Expo in the University’s Conference Center. The gathering will mark the start of the Massachusetts as a First Customer Program – a pilot initiative that supports the introduction into the marketplace of cutting-edge clean energy and water technologies.
“We think it is fitting that these groups chose Bentley as the site to launch this program,” said Rick Oches, Chair of the Department of Natural and Applied Sciences and Professor of Geology and Environmental Sciences. “It’s a great opportunity for us to stress the University’s proactive approach to sustainability, to connect with key leaders in the clean tech arena in Massachusetts, and to highlight our leading curriculum in the field.”
At the EXPO, some 20 exhibitors will display clean energy and water technologies, from HVAC and energy management and monitoring products, to renewable energy generation, energy efficiency and water technologies. The day’s program aims to help clean tech companies find new customers and increase the Commonwealth's adoption of new technologies.
