The American College Heath Association (ACHA) recently named Geraldine (Gerri) Taylor as recipient of the E. Dean Lovett Award for 2010 for her contributions to the development of an exemplary college health program. This award will be presented at ACHA's 2010 Annual Meeting on June 4, 2010, in Philadelphia.

Taylor, assistant dean/director of the Center for Health and Wellness, has a commitment to provide quality care for students, and has created a first rate university health center with an outstanding staff. She has implemented electronic medical records, interactive alcohol education, illness prevention campaigns, and a robust pandemic and crisis response plan for the university. She has also increased services for students with eating disorders, and implemented programs in areas such as nutritional counseling, stress reduction, and fitness.

At Bentley, Taylor has served as co-chair of the Crisis Management Team, chair of the Crisis Planning Committee, co-chair of the Sexual Assault Task Force and chair of the Alcohol Task Force. She was voted Staff Member of the Year by the student body, and Founder's Day recipient by university staff members.

Locally, she is a past president of the College Health Association of Nurse and Administrative Directors. At the state level, she was selected by the Massachusetts Commissioner of Public Health to represent Massachusetts colleges on the state H1N1 Advisory Committee and the Statewide Surge Committee. Regionally, she is on the Board of the New England College Health Association. Nationally, Taylor is chair-elect of the ACHA Advanced Practice Clinicians section.
