Bentley recognizes its faculty, staff and students for their awards, honors and other achievements.

Mahendra Gujarathi, the Rae D. Anderson Professor of Accountancy, has earned the Outstanding Accounting Educator Award for 2018, the first Bentley professor to be so honored. The American Accounting Association presented the honor, which recognizes exceptional career contributions in educational innovation; excellence in teaching, publications and research guidance to graduate students; and significant involvement in professional and academic societies and activities.

Chris Beneke, professor of History and director of Academic Integrity, has been chosen to work with the Faith and Liberty Discovery Center to help explain the significance of the Bible and religion in American history. Beneke is one of several distinguished scholars asked to work with the center. The attraction will open on Philadelphia’s Independence Mall in Fall 2020.

Victoria Rayskin, professor of Mathematical Sciences, participated in the Differential Equations Model and Resource Creators Workshop through the National Science Foundation. Only the most qualified applicants are asked to participate in this faculty development opportunity to create new curricular materials. Rayskin was also selected to present her work at the International Congress of Mathematicians 2018 in Short Communications. There were 3,982 submissions, of which 435 were selected.

Laurel Steinfield, assistant professor of Marketing, had two of her papers accepted at the Consumer Culture Theory Conference: “Exploring the Epistemological Space for Fairy Tale Transformations: A Consumer Culture Theory Perspective of Social Change and Justice?” and "Mapping Intersectionality: Exploring its Crossroads with CCT.”

Donna María Blancero, interim Dean of Business and the McCallum Graduate School, was awarded the 2018 Presidential Service Award by the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science. She received the award for recognition of a decade of work contributing to SCANAS leadership initiatives and encouragement for the next generation of diverse STEM leaders.

Students of the Bentley University 2018 Federal Reserve Challenge Team earned an honorable mention at the Boston Regional Finals competition. The team included Chris Compton ('20), Jack Rishitelli ('20), Mark Maney ('19), Ken Cafiero ('19), Tim Kelly ('19) and Nikesh Tackwani ('20)

The Bentley University Professional Sales Team competed in the prestigious Collegiate Sales Competition hosted by Bryant University and captured 2nd place out of 25 collegiate teams. Erin Iwamoto (’20) finished in 2nd place overall against a field of over 100 competitors. Patrick Sullivan (’19) made it to the quarterfinal round, beating 75 other competitors. Additional Bentley competitors included Nathan Boutwell (’20), Brandon Newton (’19), Nedjie Thompson (’19), and Michael Young (’19). Julian Carollo (’19) and Fei Fei (Jenny) Zheng (’19) were also part of the Bentley Professional Sales Team but were unable to attend the competition.

Bentley sent a team to the Humana-Mays Healthcare Analytics 2018 Case Competition organized by Texas A&M University's Mays Business School. The team scored 2nd place out of more than 200 competing teams. The team was made up of second year MSBA students at the McCallum Graduate School of Business: Uyanga Sumiya, Hanyin Ni, and Qi Xu.

Bentley's Computer Information Systems program was ranked number 14 out of 357 U.S. schools, according to College Factual. The ranking puts Bentley's Computer Information Systems program in the top 5 percent of all programs in the country.
