Lazy days of summer? Not for Bentley students.

Each year, hundreds of Falcons trade their classrooms for corporate settings, participating in a variety of internships that enable them to hone their personal and professional skills. Whether engaging with businesses based in the Waltham area, across the country or around the world, summer interns gain valuable real-world work experience while fostering relationships with other students and experienced professionals in their chosen industry.

For help landing these coveted positions, undergraduate and graduate students turn to the dedicated staff of Bentley’s award-winning Pulsifer Career Development Center, which was recently ranked #1 for Best Career Services by the Princeton Review in their “2025 Best Colleges” guide. (This marks the second consecutive year Bentley has been designated as best in the nation and the 12th consecutive year it’s been ranked among the top five in the U.S.)

With support from the center, 92% of Bentley undergraduate students complete at least one internship by the time they graduate, with 62% completing two or more — and 40% of all Bentley students receive full-time job offers as a direct result of their internship experiences (just like Julianne Tejada ’25, below!).

Many Falcons took to social media to share highlights from their summer internships. Read on to learn more about their experiences:

Bryan Bravo ’25

Major: Computer Information Systems (CIS)

Internship: Federal Reserve Bank, Chicago

“This summer, I had the privilege of contributing to several key initiatives that enhanced organizational efficiency and collaboration in the Federal Reserve’s Information Management team, while also adhering closely to the Board of Governors’ records guidance and supervisory policies.

In addition to honing my technical skills, I had the opportunity to connect and network with professionals across various departments, gaining a deeper understanding of how the Federal Reserve operates and serves the public.

I am excited to apply the knowledge and experiences I have gained as I enter my senior year and continue my path in IT!”

Major: Finance

Minor: Computer Information Systems

Internship: AIG in Wilton, Connecticut

“I am extremely grateful for my experience within AIG’s Separation Finance team. This internship has given me insight into the processes of analyzing, reconciling, forecasting, root cause analysis and divestiture.

I also had the privilege of working alongside the Real Estate team, whose responsibility is to forecast the occupancy cost for AIG building, and with the Personal Lines team, where I learned more about different product lines and observed global A&H [Accident & Health] strategies. Lastly, I convened closely with other finance interns to create a finance style guide to ensure consistency across all submitted reports and documents.

Overall, my experience was nothing short of amazing!”

Ryan Ogren ’27

Major: Corporate Finance & Accounting

Internship: Deloitte in Hartford, Connecticut

“Whether collaborating with other Audit & Assurance interns to solve business problems or traveling to Texas and getting to meet incredible and talented leaders, my experience at Deloitte has been unequivocally fantastic.

As a result of my many experiences and encounters, I share 4 pieces of advice that stand out to me and that I hope also resonate with other students at Bentley and everywhere:

  • Be a lifelong learner who has a constant thirst to get smarter — it will propel you far in any profession.
  • Always ask what you could’ve done better in an effort to improve yourself and your team for next time.
  • Be tough on ideas but easy on people.
  • Listen to understand, not to respond.”

Major: Management (Human Resources concentration)

Minor: Nonprofit Leadership

Internship: V2A Consulting in San Juan, Puerto Rico

“V2A Consulting’s WeServe Fellows Program assigns groups of fellows to one of six nonprofit organizations in Puerto Rico that need support with various projects, allowing interns to acquire consulting skills and experience in the field. I had the privilege of working with Centro para Emprendedores, a nonprofit organization supporting entrepreneurs in Puerto Rico, to fulfill and strengthen their strategic plan.

I am also humbled to have been chosen to receive the 2024 WeServe Fellows Scholarship. It is awarded to two fellows who excel in their overall performance, evidence commitment to the program and embrace V2A’s values. The recognition and continuous support from everyone at V2A Consulting means more than words can express, and I am forever honored to have been selected to be a part of this program.”

Julianne Tejada ’25

Major: Economics-Finance

Internship: Abbot in Sylmar, California

“This summer, I had the immense privilege of working with Abbot’s Div HQ team for the Cardiac Rhythmic Management (CRM) business. During my time at Abbott, I worked on several projects, such as creating a comprehensive, 20-page guide on how to use a spreadsheet management system called Dodeca, using that same system to create a historical analysis of sales of CRM products, and modifying Excel formulas and macros to further automate multiple financial templates that are used by different commercial sites around the world.

Because of this program, I gained valuable insights into what it means to work in the healthcare industry and where I fit in this world of finance. To be fully transparent, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my Economics-Finance studies before this summer, but this internship has given me the clarity I needed: I’m excited to share I’ve accepted an offer to join Abbott’s Finance Professional Development Program (FPDP) full-time after graduation!”

Kassidi Thompson ’25

Majors: Economics-Finance and Public Policy

Internship: Santander Bank in Lisbon, Portugal

“This summer I interned within Santander Bank Portugal’s corporate division, Páginas e Metáforas, under the mentorship of its CEO, Nuno Simões. We worked to strategize new ways for Santander Bank to optimize their customer recruitment efforts across Portugal given a current budget.

We did this by designing and launching several campaigns across various social media sites to increase traction to the bank's online course ecosystem, including Santander Bank Open Academy and Santander X. This involved conducting market research on regional competitors across Europe to derive new strategies to improve marketing tactics for Santander Bank Portugal to optimize return on investment in marketing.”

For my time in Portugal, I must thank all the CIEE Lisbon staff involved in coordinating the CIEE’s Lisbon Summer Global Internship and Bentley’s Cronin Office of International Education for walking me through and helping to fund this opportunity!”

Headshot of Shayne Williams taken in front of wall featuring State Street logos.

Shayne Williams ’25

Major: Economics-Finance

Internship: State Street Corporation in Boston

“As part of my Corporate Finance Internship program at State Street, I worked in Global Treasury on the Investment Portfolio team. As an economics-finance major, this team was a perfect match for me, as I used my critical thinking to analyze macroeconomic factors and trends and see how that impacts State Street’s securities portfolio and financial statements. Given this was my first internship, all I really was equipped with was the knowledge I learned in the classroom, the curiosity to learn more about the markets and the financial services industry, and a hunger to propel my professional journey forward.

Among the highlights: Collaborating with other interns to create training materials on State Street balance sheet management functions and developing a dynamic dashboard conducting macro-level analysis on Consumer Price Index (CPI) data from Bloomberg. I also joined the Black Professional Group to build deeper connections beyond my intern class, and had dozens of coffee chats with professionals across finance where I gained insight and advice to navigate my own career. Thank you, State Street, for an unforgettable summer!”
