While many Bentley University students are packing their suitcases to spend the fall semester studying abroad, 27 students from around the globe completed their own abroad experience on the Bentley campus. This summer, the International Summer Institute at Bentley (ISIB) brought students from 10 different countries including Austria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, South Africa, Tunisia and Turkey to focus on key business trends and issues to earn academic credit.
Academic experience
ISIB students were offered four academic seminars to earn eight ECTS credits:
- Emerging Global Trends for Business and Society
- Global Marketing Simulation
- Transforming the Enterprise through Social Media and Technology Trends
- Understanding Global Financial Markets
Along with their seminars, students experienced hands-on learning in Bentley’s technology labs including the Center for Marketing Technology and Trading Room. The group also visited nearby Boston-based companies such as Fidelity Investments, State Street Bank, and Acquia, a leading cloud platform, to enhance their classroom experience.

Cultural Immersion
Organized cultural activities and excursions for the ISIB students enhance their’ understanding of American culture. Among the destinations visited were downtown Boston, New York City and the beaches of Rhode Island. On the social front, several events were held on the Bentley campus for ISIB students to interact with current Bentley students.
