Liz Brown, adjunct assistant professor of law, taxation and financial planning, was named the first executive director of the Boston Forum of Golden Seeds, a network of angel investors (affluent individuals who invest capital for business start-ups) dedicated to funding early stage companies founded and/or led by women. Brown will oversee the management of the Boston Forum operations, with a primary focus on building membership in the region and organizing members to participate in the investment process.

Golden Seeds is the fourth-largest angel investor network in the United States, consisting of approximately 200 men and women investing in high-growth businesses in which women have significant equity and a C-level role.

“Golden Seeds supports women entrepreneurs exclusively, and I'm working with the Bentley Microfinance Group to connect them with local angel investors and entrepreneurs,” Brown says. “I hope to develop more partnerships between Bentley students and the angel eco-system in Boston.”
