Bentley Again Named Among the Best in the Nation for Internships and Career Services
Princeton Review Ranks Bentley #1 for Internships and #3 for Career Services
Bentley University’s nationally recognized career service department is ranked #3 in the country in The Princeton Review’s newly-released guide, “The 385 Best Colleges, 2020 Edition.” Bentley is also ranked #1 for internship opportunities by The Princeton Review.
This is the seventh year in a row that Bentley’s career service department has been ranked in the top 5 in the U.S., highlighting the university’s successful approach to making sure that students secure good jobs and thrive after graduation.
Bentley offers students and their families a strong return on investment by teaching skills that prepare students for jobs of the future and providing plenty of opportunities for internships and other hands-on-learning. Ninety-two percent of Bentley students complete at least one internship and 71 percent complete more than one before graduation. All of this leads to very successful outcomes - six months after graduation, 99 percent of the Class of 2018 was employed, attending or planning to attend graduate school.
Which Great Companies Hire Bentley Graduates?
“At Bentley, preparing for a post-graduation career isn’t something you wait until senior year to think about, it’s a critical part of the educational experience from the first day you arrive on campus,” says Janet Ehl, executive director of university career services. “Beginning in their first year, students take career education courses, are mentored by career advisors and connect with companies through events, programs and technology. It’s no surprise that so many of our students have jobs lined up more than six months before graduation.”
Career planning at Bentley begins during students’ first semester through the university’s HIRE Education career action plan, a 4-year approach to lead students toward a fulfilling career path. Ninety-nine percent of Bentley first-year students enroll in the Career Development 101 course, which lays the foundation for a lifetime of successful career management. Students also take career development courses in their sophomore, junior and senior years.
How the Ranking was Conducted
The Princeton Review compiled the rankings for the 2020 edition based on surveys of 140,000 students attending the 385 colleges in the book in 2018–19 and/or the previous two academic years. The survey asked students 84 questions about their school's academics, administration, student body and themselves. Learn more about how the survey was done.
