The newly formed Bentley American Indian Business Leaders (AIBL) chapter won first place at this year’s AIBL Business Plan Competition during the national conference in Chandler Arizona. The graduate team consisting of Tosa Two Heart, Andy Haojun Guo, and Khoi Vo was coached by Dr. Earl Avery and assisted in preparations by Professor Mary Marcel and graduate student Joshua Nwozor.The team submitted a plan to offer flavored water in biodegradable packaging that would provide health benefits and also reduce waste on reservations.
Professor Mohammad J. Abdolmohammadi (Ali) has been named the Inaugural John E. Rhodes Professor of Accounting after holding the Rhodes Professorship, the first endowed chair awarded by the school, since he came to Bentley in 1988.
Stephanie Robinson ’19, Nicholas Tracey ’19, Riley Besecker ’19 and Yishan Wang ’19 placed first in Deloitte Advisory’s RISE Case Competition. The team will head to the finals at Deloitte University in Texas on April 7.

Bentley’s student a cappella group Off the Clock performed at the 2017 ICCA Northeastern Quarterfinal on February 11, 2017.
Assistant Professor of Accounting Kerri-Ann Sanderson received funding from the AICPA’s Assurance Research Advisory Group for research that addresses assurances topics of interest to the CPA profession.
Three of Bentley’s Moot Court teams were invited to compete in the national Moot Court tournament in Tampa, Florida in early January. In addition to the three teams arguing in the tournament, a fourth Bentley pairing competed in the written brief competition where their submission was ranked #9 out of 45, earning honorable mention at the awards ceremony. Overall, the Bentley teams had their best performance since at least 2012.
