Like most Falcons, Roger Beit ’79, P ’19 spent countless hours in the Bentley Library during his student days. But, he says, “We never had rooms like this.”
“This” is the newly dedicated Beit Family Conference Room, a bright and quiet retreat tucked away from the bustling lobby of the library. It’s hard not to look up from a pile of graphs or an open book at the expansive view of the academic quad through the many tall glass windows. The room is almost always booked — serving as a natural hub for ideas and collaboration. This is the second group study room to be dedicated in honor of Roger and Sondra Beit P ’19, Great Benefactors of the university who have supported the library since 2013 through the Roger J. Beit Fund. They also recently established the Roger and Sondra Beit Achievement in Accounting Endowed Scholarship Fund.
Beit’s reasons for giving are simple and sincere: Bentley gave him an education that, he says, poised him for success — and now his son, Jeff ’19, is receiving the same head start in life.
On April 9, Bentley community members honored the Beit family, including Jeff, and daughter, Elizabeth, and formally dedicated the newly named space: a moment of gratitude to show the impact this generous family has had — and will continue to have — on the university.
