Scholars from around the world gathered at Bentley University for the Dewald Roode Information Security Workshop 2010 IFIP WG 8.11/11/13, in October. Aimed at advancing the research discipline of information systems security through the creation, dissemination, and preservation of well-formed research, the highly competitive workshop is held annually in locations around the globe; the inaugural event was held in Cape Town, South Africa in 2009.

Among the general co-chairs for the workshop were Bentley faculty members Amy Ray, associate professor of Information and Process Management, and Scott Boss, assistant professor of Accountancy. Editors of the European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS) and MIS Quarterly screened the work of select researchers who now have the opportunity to have their work fast- tracked to these journals. Authors of accepted papers also participated in discussions focused on moving the field forward through the improvement of their papers. Topics discussed included data collection, analysis, and finding the best audience for current and future research.
