True to our Values
A Message about the Election from the Board Chair
Dear Members of the Bentley Community,
There is no greater privilege in America than the opportunity to exercise the right to vote. Every four years, citizens of this country have the chance to evaluate where we are, examine where we’re going and dream of where we might someday be, and then vote to elect a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
As of this morning, ballots continue to be counted in several states, leaving the final result of the presidential election unknown. We’ve become accustomed to quick tallies and decisions in national elections, but that won’t necessarily be the case this year.
As we await final tallies and a certified decision, I encourage all of you to be especially understanding and supportive of one another—today, tomorrow and in the weeks ahead. As always, the Counseling Center is available to speak with students by calling 781-891-2274. Faculty and staff are encouraged to access our Employee Assistance Program, which offers 24/7 confidential support, counseling and coping strategies.
I also encourage you to find opportunities to check in with friends, classmates and colleagues today who may feel anxious or unsettled. Remember that we remain in control of our community’s well-being here at Bentley. While we should always treat each other with kindness and civility, it’s especially important that we do so following this election.
We’re just a few weeks from Thanksgiving, and our chance to pause, rest and reflect. I wish all of you the very best in these final weeks. And like all of you, I look forward to the final results being determined in the days ahead.
Sincerely,
Paul Condrin
Chair of the Board and Interim President
