While most view spring break as a time to kick back and relax, one group of Bentley undergraduates instead chose to join Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County to help build a house for a family in need. Along with their staff advisor Lynne Johanson, 20 students traveled from Boston to Juno Beach, Florida where they not only built a home, but built hope for the family.

For the last 13 years, Bentley has offered this alternative spring break option and the momentum continued with this year’s group of dedicated students. Junior Finance major Jillian Eglitis and senior Marketing major Giana Manganaro led this year’s trip. “It was incredibly rewarding to bond with other students over our collective sense of pride and accomplishment about what we were able to give back to a community and a family,” said Eglitis. “And I’ve made quite a few lasting friendships from this trip to boot.”

In order to lower expenses for the Bentley Habitat participants to travel to Florida and stay for a week, Eglitis and Manganaro helped raise nearly $7,000.
