No-cost Warranty Repairs for Lenovo, Dell and HP Business-class computers
Through a partnership with Micros Northeast, Bentley offers on-site warranty repair services for Lenovo, Dell and HP business-class laptop computers.
A failed or damaged business-class laptop purchased through the Micros Northeast Portal is covered under warranty or accidental damage protection and is repaired at no cost to the student.
Repairs at a Cost for Other Makes/Models/Non-Warranty Repairs
If a student has a laptop that is not covered under warranty or Accidental Damage Protection, on-site repair is available at a cost and subject to parts availability from the manufacturer. The cost of a non-business-class or non-warranty repair includes time and materials, and payment is made via credit card directly to Micros Northeast.
Even under warranty, Apple laptops are subject to the Apple Care+ deductible.
Micros Northeast Computer Hardware/Software Repair Pricing
Enterprise/Business Class Computers:
In-warranty (Lenovo, Apple, Dell, HP):
- No charge to the client or Bentley University for approved computer hardware repair covered by the warranty or Accidental Damage Protection*.
- Apple laptops are subject to the Apple Care+ deductible.
Out-of-warranty (Lenovo, Apple, Dell, HP):
- $45.00 diagnostic fee
- Diagnostic fee is absorbed if client proceeds with the repair and replaced with a $75.00 repair fee.
- Additional costs (e.g., parts, data back-up) will be charged to the client once they approve the repair.
Retail Purchased/Non-Business Class Computers:
In-warranty (HPs, Toshiba, Samsung, ASUS, Acer, Lenovo IdeaPads, etc.):
- To avoid additional costs, the client should contact the computer’s manufacturer directly for warranty repairs on retail purchased (non-business class) computers.
- The fee schedule for retail purchased in-warranty repair is the same as out-of-warranty repair (below) for these computers.
Out-of-warranty (HPs, Toshiba, Samsung, ASUS, Acer, Lenovo IdeaPads, etc.):
- $45.00 diagnostic fee
- Diagnostic fee is absorbed if client proceeds with the repair and replaced with a $75.00 repair fee.
- Additional costs (e.g., parts, data back-up) will be charged to the client once they approve the repair.
Miscellaneous Services:
- Data Back-up and Transfer - $75.00
- Restoring the Hard drive to the factory Image (does not include data back-up and transfer) - $75.00
- Virus removal (regardless of warranty status) - $75.00
- Memory (RAM) Installation (not including the cost of the memory) - $25.00
Micros Northeast will not charge repair, labor or parts fees without the client’s approval and will contact the client directly to make payment arrangements for the cost of repairs.
*Not all instances of damage are included under accidental damage protection and may incur additional fees.
Access to a Loaner Laptop
While your computer is with Micros Northeast for active repair, priority access to a loaner laptop is available for students who purchased a computer via the Micros Northeast portal. Students who did not purchase via the Micros Northeast portal are eligible for a loaner laptop based upon availability. Students are responsible for any damage, loss or theft to the loaner laptop.
