Instructors' Bios
Instructors with both academic and industry backgrounds teach in the Wall Street 101 Program. They offer a unique opportunity for students to learn valuable skills and improve financial literacy.
Alain Chinca is an investment professional with over 35 years of industry experience in France and the United States. In addition to his position as a full-time lecturer at Bentley University, he has managed $14 million of assets under management for select clients for over 10 years. Prior to his full-time teaching position, Alain was a managing director at Cabot Research, a behavioral finance firm. Before that, he was a senior quantitative analyst and portfolio manager at The Boston Company Asset Management. Alain’s other work experience includes Wellington Management, New England Financial, and Chevreux-De Virieu Brokerage. He became a Chartered Financial Analyst in 1997. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society Boston, and the Beta Gamma Sigma Scholastic Honorary Society.
Michael is an Assistant Professor in Finance at Bentley with research interests including Fintech, Corporate Finance and Machine Learning. He graduated from Fordham University with a PhD in finance.
Sacha graduated from the University of Oregon with a PhD in Economics. He is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Bentley University. He is trained in Macroeconomics and Bayesian Econometrics and Forecasting. Sacha is currently a Panel member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s Survey of Professional Forecasters (SPF).
Florin is an investment professional with 20 years of fundamental and quantitative investing experience, mostly in the Technology sector. He is a senior lecturer in the Department of Finance at Bentley University. He was an equity analyst at Blackstone Asia Advisors responsible for research on Tech, Telecom, and Alternative Energy sectors in Asia. Before joining Blackstone in 2008, he worked at Castor Pollux Securities, a start-up hedge fund in Boston. Dr. Morosan held equity research positions at Sanford Bernstein, Citigroup and Robertson Stephens in technology strategy, telecom equipment and alternative energy, respectively. He also worked for McKinsey & Co. as a management consultant.
Alok joined Bentley University as an assistant professor in the Department of Finance in 2019 after completing his PhD from the University of Arizona. Alok has also worked as an equity analyst for Lehman Brothers and Nomura financial advisory. His research interest includes empirical corporate finance with a focus on payout policy and executive compensation.
Kartik is the George and Louis Professor of Finance at Bentley University. He studies agency, product markets, and financial reporting choices in the context of corporate investment and financing decisions. His research has been published in top-tier Finance and Accounting journals. He has expertise in assessing Fair Value (in accordance with FAS 157) of investments in private firms and hard-to-value assets; fixed income securities including mortgage-backed securities, credit default swaps; auction rate securities; CMOs; CDOs; investments in hedge funds and private equity funds.
Sebastian is a lecturer in the finance department at Bentley University. He is an experienced Cyber Security Expert with a demonstrated history of working in the Financial and Software industry. Skilled in PHP, Linux System Administration, Computer Forensics, Android Development, and Business Intelligence. Strong information technology professional with a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) focused in Computer Science from Kwame Nkrumah' University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.
Jahangir is Executive Founding Director, The Hughey Center for Financial Services/Trading Room, and Gibbons Research Professor of Finance, Bentley University. He teaches International Financial Management and Fixed Income. Jahangir studies financial volatility and has his articles published in top-tier academic and practitioner journals. Has received awards and grants from the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), the Binational Fulbright Commission, Columbia University, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank. He has previously taught at Texas A&M University. He is a senior advisor to a start-up hedge fund.
Teaching and research interests include corporate finance, investments, asset pricing, empirical corporate finance, security analysts and networks. Dr. Tyagi also worked as an associate at Cornerstone Research as a quantitative analyst in the structured products space. He completed his PhD in finance at Georgia State University, MBA at Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and B. TECH. at College of Engineering, Pune, India.
Anurag is currently an Adjunct Professor teaching FinTech & blockchain/Crypto Finance at Bentley University in Massachusetts. He is a Managing Director, for Valuations, and Head of Asia Investment Operations, for Sun Life Capital Management. Anurag is also an Advisor to several startups in Cybersecurity, Blockchain and financial ML/AI space. He brings a powerful combination of both investment management as well as financial services technology experience spanning over 25 years. Recently, Anurag was the Global Business Director for Financial Services at Dassault Systèmes. He was heading the development of a financial macro Risk Prediction machine learning solution, in addition to Business Development, Product Marketing, and leading their blockchain business strategy.
Prior to Dassault Systèmes, Anurag was a Bond Strategist at State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), helping develop investment strategy and manage risk. In addition, Anurag has held senior technology positions at SSGA, Fidelity Investments and Yantra (IBM). He has delivered strategic business value through global enterprise solutions and created sophisticated applications for Investment & Risk Analytics, Trading and Business Intelligence. Anurag has an MBA from Babson College in Massachusetts, and a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T.) in Bombay, India, and is a CFA Institute Charter holder.
Joseph Wickwire was a portfolio manager in the Equity division at Fidelity Investments where he managed the Fidelity Select Gold and the Fidelity Global Commodity Stock Funds. He has appeared on the Bloomberg Business, CNBC and Fox Business television news channels; been quoted in Barron’s, The New York Times, Financial Times, Investor’s Business Daily and The Wall Street Journal; and has presented at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, Boston College’s Carroll School of Management, Cornell University’s Johnson School of Management and the Harvard Business School. Joe currently serves on the Bentley University Hughey Center for Financial Services Advisory Board and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society. He received a bachelor of arts degree in history from Boston College in 1986 and a master of business administration degree with a concentration in investment finance and international business from Bentley University in 1993. He is a CFA charter holder. Beginning in January 2020, Joe has been an adjunct professor at Bentley University, where he co-developed and co-teaches “Advanced Topics and Career Perspectives in Investment Management” with fellow Bentley alumnus and Fidelity colleague, Rich Thompson.
Katherine is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Bentley University. She earned an MS in Quantitative Finance from the University of Manchester (UK) and a PhD in Finance from the University of Georgia. She was a Controller at Community First Bank. Before that, she worked at Prudential as a Financial Services Professional and Risk Advisory Senior.
Laura earned her BS in Economics at Bentley University and her MS and PhD in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Bentley University. Her research and teaching interests focus on applied macroeconomics and monetary policy. Previously, she was a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
