Objective
The E-Hub facilitates and supports speaker series and coaching sessions throughout the year. These events provide a vehicle for members of the Bentley community to stay connected with Bentley alumni and others to learn from their experience and expertise. The E-Hub coordinates with faculty as well as other entities around campus to identify alumni, invite them, and coordinate their visits for these sessions. To ensure that the events benefit the students, the E-Hub also ensures that a calendar of events showcases these events and manages student attendance. The goal of these events is both, to promote an entrepreneurial spirit among the Bentley community and provide opportunities to learn specific skills.
Description
The speaker series is devoted to lager format events that are typically held on campus, where alumni talk about entrepreneurship success stories, career choices, how to work with different industry sectors and more. For the speaker series, the E-Hub often coordinates with one or more specific courses aimed at entrepreneurship to integrate these speaker visits with the course offering for the semester. In contrast, the coaching sessions follow a small group discussion format with alumni who provide valuable insight into various aspects of the entrepreneurial process. Typically held in the Somers Garage (with the alum visiting in person or via a large zoom screen), the coaching sessions are held every week with attendance limited to no more than 20 students, where the discussion focuses on specific aspects selected by the visiting alum.
