Art Gallery Exhibit: Helen Suzman, Fighter for Human Rights
January 22, 2013
Beginning January 22, 2013, The McGladrey Art Gallery will host a traveling exhibit honoring the life and work of Helen Suzman, the iconic South African leader and activist. A member of Parliament for 36 years (1953-1989), Suzman stood alone as the governing body’s only member of the Progressive Party -- and sole opposing voice to apartheid -- for 13 years (1961-1974).
All are invited to attend the opening reception for this important exhibit on Wednesday, January 30, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. There will be a guest speaker and opening remarks at 5:00pm. Light refreshments will be served.
