Database of the Month: Safari Online Tech Books
February 17, 2022
Within the O'Reilly database, Safari Tech Books offers books, audiobooks, case studies, videos, conference content and interactive tutorials on technology, computing, and business topics.
Search for Titles
O'Reilly provides a basic search box at the top of the home page that can be used to execute a keyword search for books, videos, live events, and more.
Type keywords or phrases into the search box, and get results across all media types. Click a specific format to see only titles in the format you chose. If you'd like to see your search terms in the context of broader topics, click the Topics dropdown menu to make a choice.
If you prefer to browse the collections by topic, click the Explore link on the sidebar.
Explore Search Results
To interact with content, click on the link title, then click the Start button. Books can be read in a browser or on a mobile device with the O'Reilly app; video materials can be viewed in a browser, on mobile, or via Roku or Amazon Fire.
Search with O'Reilly Answers
In addition to the top-level keyword search, the Answers function allows a deeper dive into the content by typing a specific question into the search bar. The search engine instantly scans thousands of titles in the database to find and display the most relevant answer.
Set up a Personal Account
You can set up a private profile to make playlists of saved items, save search history, and export the items that you have "highlighted" in the titles viewed.
