Reading Day Relief Events & Final Exams Stress Reducers: Snacks, Make Winter Decorations, Board Game Night, Crafts, and More!

Check out these Reading Day Relief events at the library! Starting at 11:00am on Tuesday you can enjoy drinks and snacks and make a fun winter decoration using upcycled magazine paper with the curator of the RSM Art Gallery. Then, pop in to our friendship bracelet, button making, and crochet activities. We're closing out Reading Day with our first-ever board game night, co-sponsored by the Bentley Association of Board & Tabletop Games (BABT). Please stop in to as many as you can. READING DAY RELIEF EVENTS

STUDY BREAK SNACKS & BEVERAGES
11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. in the lobby 
Coffee, tea, apple cider, and snacks to give you a boost.

MAKE A WINTER DECORATION
11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. in the atrium in front of the art gallery
Learn how to make a fun winter decoration with upcycled magazine paper. Danielle Krcmar, RSM Art Gallery Curator, will provide instruction and materials. 

FRIENDSHIP BRACELET & BUTTON MAKING
12:00–2:00 p.m. in room 101 
Time to get crafty with make-your-own buttons and friendship bracelets. We'll provide the supplies, you bring your creativity! 
*If you’d like to design and print your buttons ahead of time, please use the templates and instructions provided on our button maker page. 

CROCHET YOUR WAY TO CALM
2:00–4:00 p.m. in room 101 
Drop in to learn crochet basics and make a lanyard or wristlet keychain. Already a crochet enthusiast? Bring your own project to work on and/or share your skills, knowledge and enthusiasm with others. 

BOARD GAME NIGHT co-sponsored by Bentley Association of Board & Tabletop Games (BABT)
5:00–8:00 p.m. in room 011 (classroom on the lower level)
Take a break from your studies and unwind at our first-ever board game event, co-sponsored by BABT.  Come alone or bring friends—either way, you’re sure to have a great time. We’ll provide a variety of games and some light snacks, you bring the fun.

FINAL EXAMS STRESS REDUCERS: DECEMBER 10–17

Take a break from your books and screens and head to the lobby to explore activities to help you relax and recharge. These stress-relievers are available throughout exams period for you to enjoy whenever you need them. 

MAKE PAPER SNOWFLAKES: Do you want to make a snowflake? ♫ ♫ Visit the snowflake station in the atrium to find everything you need to make beautiful snowflakes out of paper. Take your snowflakes with you or add them to our entry window display. 

DIY BOOKMARKS: Check out the coffee tables in front of the gallery for all the materials needed to make your own bookmarks. We’ll have plenty of bookmark templates, colored pencils and markers, and tassels on hand for you to get crafty. 

GAMES TABLE: Grab a friend or two for a board game study break. Scrabble, checkers, and chess are not only a fun distraction, but help sharpen your cognitive skills, too!

COMMUNITY JIGSAW PUZZLE: Whether you add one piece or many, pitch in to help us complete the latest puzzle.

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT WHITEBOARD: Post your positive messages to help your fellow Falcons through finals.

Don't forget that library staff are here to help with everything from printing, to booking a study room, to conducting research and creating citations. No question is too big or too small. Please ask any library staff member if you need a hand!
