Bentley Partners with Boston Chapter of the American Statistical Association at Research Symposium
November 11, 2020
On November 7, the Boston Chapter of the American Statistical Association, in cooperation with the Bentley University, Boston University, and Tufts Student Chapters, held a virtual Student Research Symposium in Statistics and Data Science. This was an excellent opportunity for our students learning in this field to present their research and discuss with peers and faculty from various New England institutions.
In addition to student presentations, the research symposium featured keynote speaker Dr. Francesca Dominici to provide insight on her research. Dr. Dominici is a professor of Biostatistics at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Co-Director of the Data Science Initiative at Harvard University. Her presentation topic was: ‘A Particulate Solution: Data Science in the Fight to Stop Air Pollution and Climate Change.’
The BCASA mission is to foster in the broadest manner statistics and its application, and to promote unity and effectiveness of effort among all groups in the area having an interest in or being concerned with statistical problems.
