Professional Discussion Series: Managing Across Cultures
July 22, 2021
Included in this blog is a recorded presentation with focus on managing across cultures from Professor Iris Berdrow. The Graduate Admission team also took time to talk about certificate program offerings at Bentley University's Graduate School of Business.
Professor Berdow is a tenured associate professor of management and MBA program director at Bentley University. Iris holds an MBA and PhD with a concentration in Organizational Behavior and International Management. She is published in MIT Sloan Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Long Range Planning, and the Journal of World Business. Her current research interest is in innovation for the silent partners — society and the environment — and her specialties are cross-cultural effectiveness, global innovation, innovative behaviors, return on innovation, assessing learning outcomes, and competency-based education.
It is critical in business for professionals to understand each other regarding cultural, race, and gender differences. The more we can understand cultural boundaries and differences when collaborating in cross-cultural settings, the better results for relationships and solutions.
