Bentley Arena Policies & Procedures
Bentley University is a community of faculty, students and staff who are gathered to learn and support learning. We embrace the Bentley Beliefs, which govern our conduct in classrooms, residence halls and places of work. Our learning is a privilege. It is predicated upon our acceptance of the responsibilities described below.
All University policies, as outlined in the Student Handbook, will be enforced in The Bentley Arena.
To help make The Bentley Arena a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone, we ask all individuals to be courteous to those around them and to abide by all building policies and regulations. Those who do not conduct themselves in a proper manner and do not abide by building policies and regulations will be removed from the Arena.
The Bentley Arena welcomes families and children to our venue. For the safety of all our guests, we please ask that children are supervised at all times. Running on the concourse is not allowed and children may be asked to remain with their parents or chaperones if necessary.
Bentley University athletic events should be safe and fun for all those in attendance. Fans are asked to behave responsibly at all games and to cheer loudly for the Falcons.
Bentley University, the Atlantic Hockey Conference and the NCAA promote good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches and spectators. Please support the participants and officials in a positive manner. Throwing objects of any type and any profane, racial, sexist or abusive comments or actions directed at officials, student-athletes, visiting team fans, spectators, coaches or team representatives will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from The Bentley Arena.
Prohibited Items and General Policies
All items brought into the arena are subject to inspection.
For safety reasons the following list of items are not permitted in the arena:
- Alcoholic beverages, drugs or other illegal substances
- Golf umbrellas
- Inappropriate attire or signage
- Outside food and/or beverages
- Drones
- Laser pointers or similar items
- Weapons/chains
- Artificial noisemakers
- Audio, video, professional cameras, cameras with detachable lenses, video cameras or recording devices of any kind
- Bags, backpacks or briefcases
- Glow sticks or any kind of glow jewelry
- Golf umbrellas
- Laptop computers and/or tablets
- Large banners
- Selfie sticks
- Sticks or poles of any size
Individuals found in possession of the above-mentioned items will be asked to remove the item from the arena or dispose of it. Individuals who refuse to comply will be evicted from the arena and may be subject to arrest.
Individuals are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages and/or any drugs/paraphernalia into The Bentley Arena. The Bentley Arena will offer a cash bar for the sale of beer and wine for all home hockey games. The policies for the purchase of alcohol will be the following:
- To purchase alcohol, all guests must be 21+ years old and have valid ID
- To encourage enjoyment of the game, sales will pause at the start of every period
- The bar is CASH ONLY. The closest ATM on campus is available in the 2nd floor lobby of the Student Center on Main Campus
- All drinks will be opened at the time of purchase and no drinking will be permitted in the sales line
- Drinks are limited to one per person for all purchases
- Pass-offs and/or use of a false ID will result in removal from the venue and possible further disciplinary action
Other Drugs/Illegal Substances
Any individual in the possession of any drug/illegal substance will have the items confiscated and will may be subject to eviction and arrest. Federal law prohibits marijuana possession on University property.
To provide a safer environment for the public, The Bentley Arena will not allow any bag that exceeds 12” x 12” x 6” into the facility. All Individuals are subject to search. Please allow additional time for entry and please plan accordingly.
Individuals are not allowed to bring any outside banner(s) into the Arena. Small signs are permitted as long as they do not block the view of others or contain obscene material. Large signs and signs that contain sticks and poles are not allowed into the Arena. Arena management reserves the right to remove any sign in The Bentley Arena.
The Bentley Arena’s policy on cameras and recording equipment varies. In general, flash photography is prohibited at all events; Arena policy on the use of video recorders or digital cameras with recording capabilities varies by event. Arena personnel reserves the right to examine and prohibit the use of any camera or recording equipment it deems unacceptable. Refer to the individual event page for more information about camera policies.
Individuals may not bring food and/or beverage items into the arena. Individuals must dispose of the unauthorized items prior to entrance into the arena. Individuals with specific/special dietary needs due to medical conditions or religious requirements should contact the Bentley Arena prior to arrival.
The Bentley Arena is committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment and enjoyable entertainment experience. Arena guests have a right to expect an environment in which they will be treated in a consistent, professional and courteous manner by all venue and team personnel. The Players and Officials have the same rights. Accordingly, fans are responsible for their own conduct.
The following standards have been established with respect to fan conduct:
- Fans are entitled to enjoy the hockey experience free from disruptive or inconsiderate behaviors or unruly actions
- Fans may not interfere with the event and/or athletes in any manner
- Rink glass – guests are prohibited from climbing, leaning, pushing or hitting the glass with any objects. Any of these actions can result in glass breakage, personal injury, stoppage in play and penalty to the home team.
- Fans shall refrain from using abusive language or obscene gestures
- Fans may not engage in fighting, throwing objects or other behavior deemed detrimental to the experience of other guests and those who engage in any of these actions will immediately be ejected from the game
- Fans are encouraged to report inappropriate behavior to venue staff
- Fans who choose to consume alcohol must do so in a legal and responsible manner. Intervention with an intoxicated or impaired fan will be handled in a prompt and safe manner
- Fans shall comply with requests from venue staff regarding venue operational and emergency procedures
- Fans may not engage in unauthorized commercial activity while on venue property
- Violation of the Fan Code of Conduct may result in ejection from the venue without a ticket refund
The Bentley Arena thanks you for adhering to the provisions of this Code of Conduct.
Distribution of leaflets and brochures are prohibited in the Arena without written approval prior to the event.
The Bentley Arena has a no re-entry policy during events. Individuals who wish to return a prohibited item to their vehicle or need to exit and re-enter due to personal emergencies (i.e., retrieve medicine from vehicle), must first make contact with a staff member prior to make necessary arrangements.
The Bentley campus is a smoke-free campus. Electronic cigarettes and all tobacco products are prohibited in the Arena.
The resale of Bentley Arena admission tickets is strictly prohibited on the premises. Violations of this policy will be referred to the Bentley University Police.
Individuals, including law enforcement personnel not present in an official capacity, are prohibited from bringing weapons into the arena. Bentley Arena does not provide weapon lockers. Weapons include, but are not limited to, the following: firearms, explosives, stun guns, handcuffs, brass knuckles, sticks, clubs, batons, martial arts instruments, pepper spray, tear gas, and knives
For the safety and enjoyment of all fans, and per The Bentley Arena Fan Code of Conduct, the aisles and stairways inside the arena should NOT be used while the puck is in play. We ask all guests to wait for a stoppage in play before moving to or from their seats.
Bentley Arena Procedures
University Police and EMTs are present at all large events. Please see a member of the staff for assistance.
Children should be told to contact the nearest Bentley Arena staff member should they become lost. Lost children will be brought to University Police and/or Security Staff. Parents looking for a lost child should seek out a member of University Police or Security Staff.
Bentley Arena management assumes no responsibility for items lost at events. All lost and found items are to taken to the University Police. After the conclusion of an event, Individuals may contact Bentley University Police to inquire about lost items.
To help ensure the highest level of safety and security, all Arena Individuals, employees, and vendors are subject to security searches and a courtesy screening, which may include metal detection devices.
Consumer Warning: The Bentley Arena uses bar code scanning for ticket admissions. As a result, fans should be careful when purchasing tickets and should ensure the seller is a licensed Bentley Arena ticket seller, such as the Bentley Arena Box Office, Etix outlets, Etix by phone and Etix.com. Otherwise, you may be purchasing a ticket that is invalid and will be denied admission.
Arena Accessibility
The Bentley Arena meets or exceeds all structural and service requirements as stipulated by the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Arena offers accessible and companion seating located on the Concourse Level for all events (accessible seating locations are subject to change based on the seating configuration for various events). Please contact the Arena Ticket Office if you require accessible and companion seating.
Individuals with disabilities receive preferential access to elevators during all Arena events. The Arena has one passenger elevator located at the main entrance.
All public restrooms are equipped with accessible sinks, stalls, and amenities. Restrooms are located at the East and West ends of the concourse. Restrooms are equipped with baby-changing stations and are accessible to individuals in wheelchairs. All-Gender restrooms are located between the Concession Stand and the Cube.
Service animals that assist Individuals with disabilities are welcome into the Arena. Service animals must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times. Please contact the Arena Ticket Office if you intend to bring a service animal to an event, so an aisle seat may be reserved for you.
The Arena offers special assistance to Individuals with disabilities through the Arena Management Office. Individuals are encouraged to provide as much advance notice as possible to the Arena prior to the start of an event to help ensure that their request for special assistance may be met.
