Winter Break Housing

Students with a demonstrated need to remain on campus during the Winter Break period will be eligible to apply for Winter Break Housing.

Winter Break Housing Details
  • Dates: December 18, 2024, to January 19, 2025
  • Cost: TBD (cost will be published in November 2024)
  • Location: Permanent spring housing assignment*
    • *Please note that the Residential Center may need to relocate some students from their permanent housing assignment to an alternate assignment for the Winter Break Housing period. A specific assignment is not guaranteed by completing the Winter Break Housing application.
  • Description: This session of winter housing covers the period from the start of winter break until the start of the spring 2025 semester. Students must have a demonstrated need to remain on campus to be eligible for this housing period (such as working a job or internship in the Waltham area, or inability to travel home).
  • Dining Information: There will be no meal plan during the Winter Break Housing period.
Applying for Winter Break Housing
  • The Winter Break Housing Application will be available under the “forms and applications” menu in the Housing Portal beginning in November 2024. More information, including cost, will be sent to current students via email at that time.
  • If you would like to request housing over Winter Break, please complete the Winter Break Housing Application by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
  • We understand that each student’s financial situation is unique, and we strive to create equitable access to on-campus housing. If you need Winter Break Housing but cannot cover the cost, please consider contacting the Student Hardship Fund. This fund is specifically intended to assist students with unforeseen costs that may arise outside of the standard costs of education.
  • If you are a winter athlete who is required to be on campus during break, you do not need to request either session of winter housing via the online application. Your coach will arrange your housing directly with the Residential Center.
