...The end of the academic year, while exciting, also brings us a touch of sadness as we say farewell to our Class of '23 student assistants. We would not be able to provide the services we do without their support and dedication to the library. It is our long held and much loved tradition to dedicate a book in our collection to show our appreciation. Each student is asked to select a title that is meaningful to them; we then add a special book plate in their honor.
...As we close the book on the academic year we must also say farewell to our Class of '22 student assistants.
...Our most beloved tradition here at the Bentley Library is to show appreciation to our graduating student assistants with a book or film dedication. Always an integral part of the library's operations, this year our student employees worked harder than ever to help us keep the doors open and meet the needs of our community during a global pandemic.
...What would we do without our student assistants? They are here when we open the doors at 7:30 a.m. and close at 2:00 a.m. During exams we leave the overnight operation of the library in their trusted hands. We rely on them to help library users, wrestle with temperamental equipment, shelve and retrieve books (over and over and over again), facilitate Interlibrary Loan requests, and assist with the processing of every book and DVD we purchase. There's so much more we could list, but suffice it to say that the library could not run without them.
...It is a Bentley Library tradition to show appreciation to our graduating student assistants by dedicating a book or film in their honor. Each student is invited to select an item from the library's collection, which is then affixed with a bookplate in their name.
