Continuing its successful track record in career placement, Bentley University’s 99 percent placement rate for 2011 graduates is defying current job market statistics. A recent survey of Bentley’s Class of 2011 shows that 78 percent of the responding graduates are employed and 21 percent are attending grad school full time – resulting in a placement rate of 99 percent.

Nathan Carter, associate professor of mathematical sciences at Bentley University, is a winner of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) Beckenbach Book Prize for Visual Group Theory (Mathematical Association of America, 2009). A $2,500 prize will be presented on January 5, 2012, at the 2012 Joint Mathematics Meetings in Boston.

The endowment to be established with the help of the NEH Challenge Grant will fund three programs directed by the Valente Center.

The Tech Apprentice Competition, modeled after The Apprentice TV show, featured 16 students who competed for a paid internship with cutting-edge marketing firm Allen & Gerritsen.

The Bowles Performing Arts Series at Bentley University kicks off its season with Redline, a men’s a cappella group based in Boston, on Wednesday, November 16, at 6:30 p.m. in Wilder Pavilion (Adamian Academic Center) on the Bentley campus, 175 Forest Street in Waltham, Mass. 

As part of the Tufts Health Plan Speaker Series, the Center for Women and Business at Bentley University presented Judge Nancy Gertner, retired U.S. district court judge for Massachusetts. The program was held on October 26.
