Bentley University Opens Computer Information Systems Learning and Technology Sandbox

Today’s students rely on technology for both their academic and social lives, and though some see it as a barrier to concentration in the classroom, others, like Mark Frydenberg are embracing it as a key teaching strategy. It was this core strategy and belief that propelled Mark to rethink the former CIS (Computer Information Systems) Tutoring Lab, and transform it into the CIS Learning and Technology Sandbox, a state-of-the-art learning space that opened this fall in the Smith Academic Technology Center, room 234, adjacent to the Trading Room.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded a $73,731 grant to Bentley University for research by principle investigator Dominique Haughton, professor of mathematical sciences, to explore how the pharmaceutical industry can more efficiently allocate marketing expenditures to reduce costs to consumers.

Wolfman and other members of the 2011 Power 50 will be recognized in a special supplement in the BBJ on October 28.

Bentley University Announces Summer 2012 “Break into the Business of Baseball” High School Internship Program with Boston Red Sox

For the seventh consecutive year, Bentley University is joining MLB.com to sponsor the “Break into the Business of Baseball” program, in which high school students from across America can win a one-month internship at the offices of the Boston Red Sox during summer of 2012. Students will go behind the scenes and learn the ins-and-outs of running a Major League Baseball (MLB) team in areas such as marketing, sales, and corporate relations and partnerships. The program is now accepting submissions for the summer 2012 internship program.

Bentley Law Professor Marianne DelPo Kulow Named 2011 Charles M. Hewitt Master Teacher by Academy of Legal Studies in Business

Bentley University Associate Professor of Law Marianne DelPo Kulow was recently named the 2011 Charles M. Hewitt Master Teacher by the Academy of Legal Studies in Business (ALSB), the international organization of professors who teach law in business schools. The award was announced following Kulow’s presentation as one of four finalists at the ALSB annual conference in New Orleans.

David Perry Named Chief Marketing Officer at Bentley University

Bentley University has named David Perry as Chief Marketing Officer. Perry has more than 20 years of experience in brand management, strategic marketing and communications across a broad spectrum of industries including healthcare, high tech, and consumer packaged goods. He joins Bentley from Seattle Children’s Hospital & Research Institute, where he served as Vice President of Marketing and Communications.
