Bentley Students Receive Traveler’s Book Award on February 8

Fifteen Bentley students were honored with the Travelers Book Award, each receiving a $500 gift from the Travelers Financial Management Leadership Development Program (FMLDP). The awards were presented on February 8 at the Multicultural Center's Lunch and Learn series, where representatives from Travelers discussed job and internship opportunities for students.

Bentley University Named to Presidential Honor Roll for Community Service For Fourth Consecutive Year

The Corporation for National and Community Service honored Bentley University with a place on the 2009 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll -- the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement. Bentley is among 700 colleges and universities to be honored.

The Boston Business Journal will honor Toni G. Wolfman, executive in residence at Bentley's Women's Leadership Institute (WLI), for her efforts to advance the cause of women in business and the professions on March 12. She receives the Advancing Women Award at the Boston Business Journal's first-ever Advancing Women breakfast which will focus on strategies for success in the workplace.

Multicultural Assistant Director Adam Payne Speaks at the MIDEM Music Conference in Cannes, France, January 25

Adam Payne, assistant director of the Multicultural Center and ALANA Experience coordinator, was invited to speak at the MIDEM Music Conference in Cannes, France, on January 25. An accomplished musician, Payne spoke on a panel about how brands are partnering with independent musicians and achieving success through viral marketing and other means. In particular, he discussed his experience with the GAP 40th anniversary Born to Play event -- the nation's largest simultaneous acoustic concert, broadcast at more than 700 Gap Stores Across the North America.

The Law, Taxation and Financial Planning Department at Bentley University announced 2010 scholarships awarded to graduate students for academic achievement in the Master of Science in Financial Planning (MSFP) and Master of Science in Taxation (MST) programs.

Bentley Research Librarian, Elizabeth Galoozis, to Appear as a Contestant on Famed Trivia Game Show, Jeopardy

After passing an online test registration and subsequently achieving success during an in-person group audition held in Boston, MA in spring 2009, Bentley Research Librarian Elizabeth Galoozis was chosen to appear as a contestant on the popular TV quiz show, Jeopardy.

The episode was filmed in December 2009 and will air on February 17, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. on CBS affiliates across the country. To see the show aired locally in the greater Boston area, tune in to WBZ-TV, channel 4.

We'd like to update you on the latest information regarding this morning's isolated incident on campus.

The Bentley student has been released from the hospital.  Please note that we need to honor the privacy of the investigation until all additional facts are uncovered.

Early this morning Bentley University Police received a report of a stabbing on campus in Fenway Residence Hall.  A male Bentley student was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries and two female non-students have been arrested.  This was not a random act as the individuals were known to each other and there is no threat to the community.

The two non-students are under arrest in Waltham Police custody. Bentley University Police are cooperating with Waltham Police in their on-going investigation.

Bentley University Sophomore Gregory Bucci Reaches Summit of Mount Kilimanjaro

During winter break, sophomore Gregory Bucci experienced new heights as he climbed to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro -- the highest peak in Africa and the world's tallest free-standing mountain.

Bucci was among a group of 10 people who signed up for the 12-day journey to East Africa through Thomson Safari in Watertown, Mass. He spent nine days on the mountain, climbing gradually in days to adjust to the altitude. Two days were spent descending the mountain.
