Bentley is the first university in Massachusetts to receive the IFRS Ready grant from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) Charitable Foundation Inc., a program that has provided competitive funding totaling $1 million to colleges and universities nationwide to help incorporate IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) into curricula. The Bentley Microfinance Group will host speakers from around the world at  the Global Microfinance Summit held at Bentley University on Sunday, March 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. , The day-long event will feature representatives from organizations such as Women’s World Bank, ACCION USA, MIT, the American India Foundation, and the William J.

On March 25, Bentley will host La Quinzaine de la Francophonie, a celebration of Francophone culture. Samba Gadjigo, professor of French at Mount Holyoke College, will present "Ousmane Sembene: Man as Culture," a discussion about the life and work of famous Senegalese filmmaker, Ousmane Sembene. A film screening of Sembene's acclaimed Senegalese film, Xala, will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Adamian Room 143, followed by Professor Gadjigo's lecture from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. (in English).

In the 2010 “Best Undergraduate Business Schools” rankings by Bloomberg/BusinessWeek, Bentley University ranks among the top 25 in the country.

To rank the undergraduate business programs, the magazine uses nine measures including surveys of senior business majors and corporate recruiters, median starting salaries for graduates, and the number of alumni each program sends to top MBA programs.

Bentley University announced two high school students as winners in the "Break into the Business of Baseball" program, sponsored by Bentley and MLB.com. During summer 2010, each winner will complete a one-month internship with a Major League Baseball team - the Boston Red Sox and New York Mets.

Bentley University students will once again offer free tax return preparation for residents of Waltham, Massachusetts, and surrounding communities, from February 13 through April 8 (with the exception of Spring Break, March 6-13). The Design and Usability Center (DUC) at Bentley University will host a User Experience Boot Camp for software and hardware engineers, industrial designers, and user experience specialists on March 8 - 12, 2010. This year, the Camp will focus on the growing importance of the user experience as a strategic business advantage and a point of differentiation in mature or hypercompetitive markets.

Harvard Business School Professor of Management and author Rosabeth Moss Kanter will be the keynote speaker at the 14th Raytheon Lecture in Business Ethics at Bentley University on Thursday, March 18, at 4:00 p.m. in the Wilder Pavilion, Adamian Academic Center. Her presentation will focus on strong potential synergies between financial performance and attention to community and social needs.

The American College Heath Association (ACHA) recently named Geraldine (Gerri) Taylor as recipient of the E. Dean Lovett Award for 2010 for her contributions to the development of an exemplary college health program. This award will be presented at ACHA's 2010 Annual Meeting on June 4, 2010, in Philadelphia.
