Sierra Club Names Bentley University One of America’s Greenest Campuses

The Sierra Club recognized Bentley University as one of America's greenest campuses, according to Sierra magazine's Top 100 Coolest Schools list. Rankings were based heavily on energy supply, along with nine additional categories: energy efficiency, food, academics, purchasing, transportation, waste management, administration, financial investments, and a section entitled "other initiatives."

Bentley University Announces Executives-in-Residence

Bentley University announces alumni Woody Benson and Tom Koulopoulos as executives-in-residence beginning in fall 2010. In this new role each executive will teach graduate courses, mentor students, work with faculty and staff on curriculum initiatives, and serve in advisory roles. A 1980 alumnus, Woody Benson is an investor with Prism VentureWorks and a high-tech industry veteran of 30 years. A prolific thought leader in innovation, globalization and information technology, Tom Koulopoulos founded Boston-based technology management and advisory firm Delphi Group, and is a 1981 alumnus.

Bentley University and Swap.com CEO Jeff Bennett host a Collaborative Consumption Summit on Thursday, September 30, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. in the Wilder Pavilion on the Bentley campus in Waltham. The keynote speaker is Rachel Botsman, an international authority on the topic of collaborative consumption -- the global sharing, swapping, lending, renting and gifting of information. The program will also include a panel discussion featuring Botsman and other leaders in the collaborative consumption movement.

National Science Foundation Awards Bentley University $376,471 Grant to Research IT Innovations in U.S. State Governments

The National Science Foundation awarded Bentley University a three-year grant totaling $376,471 on behalf of Professor M. Lynne Markus for the project entitled "The Performance Effects of Administrative Innovations-IT Organizational Design Changes in U.S. State Governments," beginning July 1, 2010. 

Bentley University Associate Professor Dipayan Biswas Wins Best Research Paper Award at the American Marketing Association Annual Summer Conference

Bentley University faculty member Dipayan Biswas received an award from the American Marketing Association (AMA) at their Annual Summer Marketing Educators' Conference held August 13 to 16, 2010 in Boston, Massachusetts. Biswas received the Award for Best Paper in the Consumer Behavior Track at the AMA Conference for his research on how consumers might make erroneous judgments when trying to compute mathematical averages.

In the most recent U.S. News & World Report rankings of America’s Best Colleges 2011, Bentley University is ranked #4 among “Best Regional Universities - North.”  Bentley is also ranked among the Top “Best Business Programs” in the country at #57.

In the business specialties category, Bentley’s Management Information Systems ranked #17 nationally and #2 in New England. U.S. News & World Report assigns rank to the top 20 schools out of 362 in this specialty category.

The Princeton Review Names Bentley one of the Best Colleges and Universities in the Nation

Bentley University is one of the nation’s best institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review. The New York-based education services company features the university in the just-published 2011 edition of its annual college guide, "The Best 373 Colleges" (Random House/Princeton Review). In the subcategories that feature rankings based on student surveys, Bentley ranked #6 for the Best Career Services, moving up from #12 last year. Bentley was also ranked #14 for the Best College Library and #18 for Dorms Like Palaces.
