Boston Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI) Presents 2010 Scholarship to Bentley University Junior Jonas Grazulis

The Boston Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI) named Bentley University junior Jonas Grazulis a 2010 Scholarship winner at the annual Academic Awards Dinner on April 14, 2010. Criteria for the scholarship includes outstanding academic achievements, along with extracurricular activities and leadership. 

Professor P. Thompson Davis Named Fellow of Geological Society of America

P. Thompson Davis, Professor of Geology and Climatology in the Natural and Applied Sciences Department, was named as a fellow of the Geological Society of America (GSA). He will be recognized at the GSA Annual Meeting on October 31, 2010, in Denver. According to GSA, members are elected to fellowship in recognition of distinguished contributions to the geosciences, an honor that is bestowed upon the best in the profession. Fellowship nominations may only be made by a fellow of the society.

The Center for Business Ethics at Bentley University will present a five-day executive development course that will give ethics and compliance officers the tools to create and manage effective ethics, compliance, and business conduct programs. "Managing Ethics in Organizations" will be held from June 7 to June 11 at Bentley, 175 Forest Street, Waltham, Mass.

Bentley alumna Jennifer Midgley '03 may be an accountant by day, but she's sketching out a dream as a shoe designer after hours. Midgley recently entered a national shoe design competition sponsored by Lucky magazine and Vince Camuto shoes. She has three designs in the running, featured on www.vincecamutoshoedesigncontest.com, page two under the name Jennifer Midgely, Smithfield, RI (please note her last name is misspelled on the website). Voting is open through May 15.

International business and civil society leaders and faculty will gather at Bentley University on Monday, May 17, 2010 for the sixth annual Global Business Ethics Symposium, sponsored by the State Street Foundation, Inc., the charitable grantmaking arm of State Street Corporation.  The program will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) awarded Bentley University professor Nathan Carter with the 2010 Henry L. Alder Award for Distinguished Teaching by a Beginning College or University Mathematics Faculty Member. Carter, who is an assistant professor of mathematical sciences, is one of only two winners of the national award.
